The safety of all staff and learners is a priority so we aim to follow regulatory best practice on good hygiene when delivering our courses.
- We have a training risk assessment which is reviewed regularly.
- Our venue and courses are fully risk-assessed prior to use and where possible we deliver at familiar sites.
- Equipment maintenance and cleaning routines are documented and monitored as part of our internal and external quality assurance procedures.
- All equipment is fully disinfected/sterilised following each course with manikin lungs replaced and faces washed.
- Learners will be issued with their own equipment for the course duration. Where equipment is shared, thorough cleaning processes are in place and learners will be issued with their own manikin face.
- The training environment has good ventilation and adequate space for practical activities.
- PPE and hand sanitiser is available at all times and learners will be encouraged to make use of this during practical activities, just as they would in a real first aid emergency.
- First aid protocols are taught in accordance with Resuscitation UK, European Resuscitation Council and ILCOR guidelines.
Here’s what you can expect on your training course with us:
Before the course
- We will ask you to confirm you are well enough to attend the course – please reschedule if you are unwell.
- You will be sent the joining instructions for your course outlining all the key safety information. This includes a link to an electronic registration form.
During the course
- The training room will be set out to maximise space.
- Hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes will be available for use throughout the course.
- For some activities learners will work in pairs with ONE other person.
- Learners will be encouraged to make use of PPE when working closely together.
- Training equipment will be allocated to individuals or paired group.
- Where manikins are shared with another learner, each learner will be provided with their own manikin face.
After the course
- Manikin airways are replaced after each course.
- Manikin faces are sterilised and washed after every course.
- Re-usable materials such as bandages are washed.
- Other equipment such as AED trainers are disinfected. disinfected.
