Everyone can expect at some point to suffer sprains, fractures cuts or grazes. The risk of this increases when taking part in sport and leisure activities. This is an introductory level course designed to teach the basics of First Aid and how to treat some of the most common sporting injuries.
If you require Sports First Aid for SYFA purposes you will need to select the Level 2 training. This course is also available for groups – see our onsite course pages or contact us for more information & prices.
Pre-requisites: Some existing Emergency / Basic First Aid knowledge would be useful. Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline.
- Incident management
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Control of bleeding
- Simple fractures & soft tissue injuries
- Head injuries
- Bites & stings
Delivery / Assessment:
This course is delivered through a mixture of practical and theoretical study and is assessed by the instructor through continual assessment. On successful completion, candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years after which a refresher course is required.
