First Aid for the Public

Public courses are available for those who want to learn something new or brush up their knowledge. These everyday courses make it easy to learn First Aid and will give you confidence to deal with an emergency.
Our range of public courses includes Basic Life Support, First Aid for Children & Families as well as Allergy Awareness training. These courses are not suitable for the workplace as they don’t cover HSE guidelines but will give you a good grounding in basic techniques.

Annual Skills Refresher

It is widely recognised that first aider's skills drop rapidly after attending most first aid courses. Unfortunately this means that when an incident occurs, they might suffer 'skill fade' or lack of confidence.
HSE strongly recommends that workplace First Aiders refresh their skills and knowledge annually. A refresher course only takes 3 hours and also includes any relevant updates to help you keep your first aid practice current and bang up to date.

Video News:

We’re all familiar with the term ‘ICE’ (In Case of Emergency) and most of us have this information stored under contacts on our mobile phones but what do you do when your new smart phone has an activated lock screen and people can’t access this in an emergency?

This video shows you how to get around the problem by using the new Medical ID facility on your iPhone (needs iOS 8 or higher). An Android version is also available – follow this link.

Stored information is shown behind your lock screen under Emergency:Medical ID and is visible without the need to unlock your phone.  Vital information can be as specific as you like including: allergies, medication, medical conditions, doctor’s details and emergency contact info. Do it now because you never know when you might need it!
