Which option you should choose when booking your course can be determined by a number of factors.  In general, group courses are most suitable for 6 or more people from the same organisation whereas open courses are designed for individuals.  Group courses require appropriate facilities at your own premises to allow training.

Syllabus

This course covers the following topics:

  • Role & responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
  • Assessing an emergency situation safely
  • Unresponsive infant/child who is breathing normally
  • Unresponsive infant/child who is NOT breathing normally
  • Infant/child with a foreign body airway obstruction
  • Infant/child with external bleeding
  • Infant/child suffering from shock
  • Infant/child with severe allergy (anaphylaxis)
  • Infant/child with minor injuries
