A HSE recognised course, suitable for individuals and members of the public who are appointed persons or responsible for emergency first aid in the workplace. A comprehensive HSE recognised course covering a broad range of injuries and conditions likely to be found in the workplace as well as HSE guidelines. Suitable for individuals and members of the public whose role requires them to be a full workplace First Aider (as identified in a First Aid Needs Assessment). This is a regulated, certified course.

Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification

This is the HSE recognised revalidation training for the 3 day First Aid at Work course.  In order to remain compliant, workplace first aiders are required to renew their qualification every 3 years. To be eligible for this training, delegates MUST hold a current FAW certificate which is valid for the duration of the course.

Activity First Aid is an accredited course, suitable for sports coaching and is aimed at those who volunteer or take part in sports related activities in the community. Training covers a emergency life saving skills and a broad range of sports related injuries and conditions.  The course lasts 2 days and is delivered over 12 contact hours.

This is a HSE recognised course covering a comprehensive range of child specific injuries and illnesses. The paediatric course is designed for those working with children in a professional capacity such as child minders. Certification is fully regulated and is valid for 3 years. This course offers a basic introduction to paediatric first aid.  It is suitable for those who work with children or babies in a professional capacity such as childminders, nursery nurses or sport and leisure staff.  The course is delivered over 1 day with 6 contact hours.

Allergy Awareness Training

Our allergy awareness courses cover conditions such as asthma and common allergies such as hay fever. The course includes management of severe allergic reaction (Anaphylaxis) as well as basic life support (CPR) and use of an adrenalin auto-injector.

 Schools First Aid

Schools first aid training is held onsite at your own establishment and is designed specifically for teachers and auxiliary school staff. It concentrates on the most common injuries and conditions relevant to the school environment and covers all age groups.  Schools first aid is NOT a substitute for HSE recognised workplace first aid. We also offer paediatric first aid training as a 2 day course which is recognised by HSE and is an accredited course.

Annual Skills Update

HSE guidelines strongly recommend that first aiders, especially those in the workplace, undertake regular refresher training to avoid ‘skill fade’.  This short 3 hour course covers basic life support, dealing with blood loss, shock and management of an unconscious casualty. This course is NOT a substitute for FAW requalification which is mandatory every 3 years for first aiders in the workplace.

This course offers a basic introduction to paediatric first aid for those with babies or young children.  It is ideal for new and expectant parents/grandparents but is not suitable for those working with children professionally e.g childminders. The course focusses on the most common childhood injuries and emergencies. It is delivered as 2 half-day sessions ( 2 x 3 hours).

The Everyday First Aid Course is designed for members of the public. It gives a solid introduction to skills and techniques for dealing with life-threatening emergencies and serious injuries and is a great start on which to build your first aid knowledge. Skills taught are based on adult casualties but we also offer baby & child / paediatric courses.

Family First Aid

This course is unique to Safe Hands and is designed for families to learn together. It teaches a range of first aid techniques, covering the most common emergency situations likely to affect family members of all ages. Training is conveniently delivered in your own home.  Children must be aged 5+ and be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Level 2 CPR & AED 

This course is designed for workplace first aiders who have access to an automated external defibrillator. The course covers effective CPR techniques combined with safe use of an AED and oxygen therapy. Courses are most suitable for those who already hold valid FAW certification, they also include AED maintenance techniques.

Basic Life Support with Defibrillator Training

Our defibrillator courses are suitable for members of the public as well as company employees with little or no prior first aid knowledge. This course covers basic life support (CPR with rescue breathing) and safe use of an AED as part of the chain of survival.  The course is delivered over 4 hours in one complete session.
