This course is aimed at appointed persons in the workplace or those with some first aid knowledge who hold a valid certificate. People suffering an ‘Out-of-Hospital’ Cardiac Arrest in the UK stand a 5% chance of survival, compared up to 75% for those in some other countries. If a casualty has gone into Cardiac Arrest time is of the essence and a controlled electric shock to the heart could make all the difference. Many businesses are now choosing to purchase AED machines as part of their First Aid equipment. The quicker defibrillation is applied and combined with good CPR, the higher the chances of survival. This course is designed to teach candidates how to recognise a Cardiac Arrest and treat it using and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). We are able to train you using a variety of AED brands and wherever possible will endeavour to use makes and models you are most familiar with in your own workplace. Oxygen therapy can also be included if this is relevant to your workplace environment.
Safe Hands can supply and help you maintain AED and other First Aid equipment should you wish to purchase it though us.
We also offer this course without Basic Life Support training for those who already hold a first aid certificate (£350 per group of up to 12).
Pre-requisites: Candidates do not need to hold a current First Aid certificate but must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline.
